Khata (credit book)
adminincluded in every plan
What it does
Customer credit ledger
The khata — the customer credit book — has run Indian jewellery counters for generations. This module keeps the same relationship, minus the disputes: credit extended, payments received and the running balance live in append-only entries both sides can see.
No more "the notebook says otherwise". The customer sees their khata in your app; your staff see it at the counter; the owner sees total credit outstanding across the house.
How it works in your store
- Open a khata per trusted customer with a credit limit you set
- Credit sales at POS post to the khata as ledger entries
- Payments against the khata reduce the balance — cash, UPI or bank
- The customer sees their balance and history in your app
- Owner report: credit outstanding by customer, age and branch

Questions jewellers ask
Can an entry be quietly changed?
No — khata entries are append-only like the rest of the ledger. Corrections are visible reversing entries, which is exactly what keeps both sides honest.
Does the customer see the same numbers?
Yes — the balance in their app is the balance at your counter. One ledger, two views.
Can I cap how much credit a customer gets?
Yes — per-khata credit limits are enforced at billing time.
